Dr. Gina Pfeiffer
Dr. Gina (Waltner) Pfeiffer grew up on a farm near Freeman, SD and graduated from Freeman High School in 1978. While at Augustana College, she was active in the band, brass choir, and biological research and graduated in 1982 with a B.A. in Biology. Following graduation, Dr. Pfeiffer attended the University of Iowa PhD program in Anatomy. After 2 years as a Gross Anatomy teaching assistant and research associate at Mayo Medical School, Dr. Pfeiffer decided to pursue a career in dentistry and was accepted at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. She graduated in 1989 at the top of her class.
Since returning to Sioux Falls in 1989, Dr. Pfeiffer has been active in the South Dakota Dental Association, serving the local chapter in various capacities, including President. She is also member of the American Dental Association, the Pierre Fauchard Academy and the International College of Dentists.
In her spare time, Dr. Pfeiffer enjoys playing her french horn with various groups, biking, reading, and working on home renovation projects with her husband, Steve, a lawyer. She has two children, both of whom have attended Augustana University. Her daughter graduated in 2015 and is studying dentistry at UM Dental School and her son will be graduating in 2017.
